First Look of Fall

Finally Fall Weather! I got to break out the boots and I couldn't be more pleased with them!  Just cool enough to be comfortable in a dress, boots and scarf - one of my favorite combos. And some of the first signs on fall - PINE NEEDLES! Good for nostalgia - bad for car windows.

To try this look -  3/4 to long sleeve fall dress. Use a print that pairs well with another print, like something that repeats patterns and doesn't have more that a few colors. Boots - I like calf covering boots with a heel, I have also worn this dress with taupe boots. A printed or plain infinity scarf in a complementary color scheme.

Rodan + Fields Giveaway

I'm just tickled to announce my first Gaudyssey Giveaway! I had never heard of Rodan + Fields before I entered a giveaway on the fabulous JessLea Blog, but boy was I in for a treat! Not only did I win the giveaway, I also got a giveaway of my own!

Wild West Texas

HOWDY!

Took a little trip to West Texas, or "God's Country" as the hubby would say! It really is beautiful, if you like flat, dusty and hot. Oh you know I'm just kidding - One night we sat outside for 2 hours just looking up at the stars and it is truly amazing how much you can see. On clear days, you can see the Davis Mountains outlined on the horizon over two hours away! We just extended the Labor Day Weekend and flew out. We have a lot of big things coming our way and it was a nice change of pace - even if 1/3 of the trip was traveling.  This is the real Ranch Life! I only took a carry on so the attire was limited, and it was HOT! Enjoy!

Striped Scuba Pants + Kimono

Obviously loving the leather accents trend here & the summer to fall white! Black and White looks never go out of style. These Stripe/Scuba pants are super trendy. I am definitely investing is the solid black liquid leggings for Fall/Winter. I added the kimono jacket for a fall look. The outfit looks very trendy, but it's the classic black and white that make it appropriate for most occasions. Add the kimono and clutch to tone down the SEXY but add a BOHO VIBE! Just loving the way this combo turned out.

August Birchbox Review

BIRCHBOX! BIRCHBOX! BIRCHBOX!

Product 1: Model Co. Party Proof Lipstick color - red velvet
Price: $24 (for three full sized lipsticks)
The Pitch: The concentrated, vitamin-rich formula heals dryness while coating lips in long-lasting color.
Chloe's Take: Goes on smooth and the color is rich without being too obnoxious. very smooth texture for longwear lip color. I haven't worn it much yet. It's kind of my first "official" red lipstick. That excludes all the dance and cheer competitions when I had to dawn that daring shade.
Rating: 4

Product 2: UniqONE All in One Hair Treatment
Price: $17.99 (full size)
The Pitch: Not only does it eliminate the need for other styling aids (like leave-in conditioners and defrizzing agents), but it works well for curly or pin-straight locks.
Chloe's Take: I think it overall calmed my hair and made it more manageable. It wasn't life changing or anything. I may try using more next time. However, the smell was not the best. Not unpleasant, just not how you hope your hair products will smell.
Rating: 3

Product3: LA Fresh Eco Beauty Oil-free Face Cleanser {BONUS}
Price: $9.99 (30 wipes)
The Pitch: Each wipe is soaked with a solution rich in potent plant extracts, including jojoba, papaya, pineapple, and cucumber. These ingredients work to leave skin clean, soft, and refreshed.
Chloe's Take: These were soft and did thoroughly remove my make-up. I had a little trouble getting my mascara off, but I usually wear waterproof.
Rating: 3

Product 4: Juice Oil-Free Moisturizer
Price: $28 (2 Oz.)
The Pitch: Instead of plain old H2O, this moisturizer is formulated with a blend of juices and other botanicals that nourish skin.
Chloe's Take: This thick and creamy formula hydrates skin and leaves skin velvety smooth, and a little bit goes a long way. The product boasts that it is one of the only moisturizers that does not use water as a main ingredient. The proof is in the pudding!
Rating: 4

Product 5: WEI Pomegranate Buffing Beads
Price: $20 (twenty packets)
The Pitch: Add the "buffing beads" to your face wash and instantly turn your favorite facial cleanser into a scrub.
Chloe's Take:  I thought the beads my be gooey textured, but they were totally dry and powdery. I added these to my Murad Acne Clarifying Cleanser and instantly it was gave it a foamy, course consistency that I like in scrubs. It says to use one packet per use, but I only used half and I thought it went a long way.  Overall I think it's a neat product it left my face very clean and soft. I followed up with the Juice Moisturizer.
Rating: 4

Ratings Scale:
5- Without a doubt purchasing this fab beauty find!
4 - I would purchase this product, but need added motivation i.e. find in a a store, coupon, sale, free shipping
3 -  Good Product, but unlikely to purchase
2 - Product was not for me
1 - Bad Bad Bad

Statement Skirt

I can't believe it's August and I felt it necessary to "jacket" an outfit - I guess that's the difference between NC and TX! With that said I am quite pleased with the way the skirt turned out revisited. I changed the top and a fe accesories. Printed skirts like this are so easy to wear, and always ensure the compliments. I am snatching up all the statement skirts I can this season.

Which reminds me... Have you ever passed up a purchase and immediately regretted it? I found a great skirt for fall and didn't purchase it - even though it would have been a great addition to my wardrobe. So please keep in mind these
Vulnerable Purchasing Times:
1.Out of Town Shopping
2. During a Sale
3. In a Rush

I have found the best thing to do in these situations is to Know the Return Policy and take a deep breathe! I am a Store Wanderer - one who walks through stores with items until you decide.. to purchase or not to purchase- that is the question. I am a Dressing Room Junkie- gotta try it on!

Striped Maxi

I am wondering what in the world I am going to do with all my cute summery outfits when the cooler weather comes into play. By adding the aqua pocket shirt, this ensemble can make it through September. Obviously change the accesories - sandals now/flats/ mocs(love these) later, aqua now/navy maybe

Basically Me

Hello Fabulous! That's how I am feeling in the gorgeous top. I have found my new Fall Staple it is BoHo ChiC and I am loving it! We had a cool day {in NC that's upper 70's during August; which is unheard of in Texas so I'm not complaining} So I thought what better way to debut my new top. I'm so obsessed and practically everyone that I have seen today has been too. I have been finding some major finds for the upcoming Fall and I couldn't be more tickled. I also think this look would be perfect with some turquoise accents and my new teal boots {see them in my instagram pics}. Next on the agenda is to find a lovely long necklace to compliment this top - You will be seeing this beaute on the blog again {sorry i'm not sorry}

Blush Bow

Am I Falling for Fall?

I don't know about you ladies but I feel fall fast approaching whether we like it or not! My first instinct is oh yay Fall is possibly my favorite time of year to dress for... Because like a dear friend told me knce "I look good in all those ugly colors"
My second thought is to be a nonconformist and say it's still hot outside... What is Fall and what are all these long sleeves? By September I am usually ready for cooler weather and to dress along with the season. Which is one thing that is easier said than done in the South!

Are you ready for Fall yet?
One challenge I am facing is that all the summer items are on sale - which is where I shop! However, there are some pieces that are in the summer sale that appear more fall -esque (once again in the South). So the challenge is buying pieces that are "transitional"
One of my main area of concern are shoes... which is why I have to give a plug to the Steve Madden sale. Fall preview 30% off yes please - Summer clearance additional 50% off yes please ... but be warned stay away from cork bottomed shoes and overly strappy sandals THESE SCREAM SUMMER
wooden bottoms and thicker straps are ok! Shop the Sale Here

 About the Outfit:

I was in LOVE with this skirt when I purchased it. I soon realized it was a challenge for me to  find something to pair it with. I would love to find add some leopard to the ensemble next time. I was please how the lace top complemented the girly skirt. super fun and flirty look!

Adventures in Carolina

Hello quaint little Carolina Beach Boardwalk - This is like the movies!

Yes this is a Mermaid Tail - If it weren't child sized I would have been tempted to purchase one for myself. What would I do with it you ask.. I don't know but I would be mermaid like so it wouldn't matter too much!
This is my ideal Mermaid self.
This is painted on the bathroom door at Michael's Seafood - All the locals recommended this seafood to us. It was pretty delish. Below are Shrimp & Grits - Yes I didn't know before I moved here either, but it's a thing... a good good thing. Anyway if you have a Harris Teeter - go get yourself some frozen clam chowder from this Michael. It is delish and nutrish.
If you don't know what Harris Teeter is.. you might be from Texas.
Glamour shot by the 60's pool!

Tall Tales of Texas

So my trip home to Texas was a rough one, to say the least. Every time I turned around I "Chloe-ing" something up. Let's get a definition of that - Pulling a stunt that is totally justifiable from my point of view and then gracefully finagling the incident enough to barely charm my way through it. There is no shame in my game!

So for example I flew out of the small Fayetteville Regional Airport, I was so pleased with myself for not over-packing-- I mean I didn't even have to unzip the top part of my suitcase ( I leave that for coming home)! I have mastered packing for back and forth travel - always take something to give - then you have room in the suitcase for everything you buy! (something only a shopaholic would say). I ended up with my big check bag and then a carryon that I flippin' love because it has four wheels. When the hubs and I travel together, which is about as rare as me passing up a sale, we fight over who gets that one (he ends up totin' my bags anyway).

Birchbox July

So I have been a Birchboxer for about 5 months and I am slightly impressed. I always get a couple things I really Like and consider buying, but so far- I haven't ran out of anything that I just had to have and replaced.

I decided to instagram my box this month and then searched #birchbox--- BIG MISTAKE!

I am getting jipped! Obviously some customers are more valuable than others! This one girl's box was so stuffed she couldn't have fit anything else in there.

Then I run across all these hardcore ipsy vs. birchbox people and let me tell ya- IPSY knows their stuff. I think IPSY looked like it had bigger sizes of samples. More brands I recognize too. Which may not be the best thing considering I have the BB so I can try new products/brands etc.

Instain-The Balm-Swiss Dot// Love the blush! it's just a tiny little sample but a little goes a long way.
DDF -Acne Control Treatment// I have been sold on Murad Acne Treatment Gel
But so far I am impressed with this- If it continues to clear up my face I will purchase! It's more of a lotion than a gel. My face was clearer in one use.
Ceramidin - Dr. Jart// This was reccommended by the ladies from Suits. I used it last night and my skin looked ready to go this morning! I normally have dry patches and they seemed to be lessened today! I like it I like it a lot!
Curl Keeper// Haven't used this yet, but I'm sure it does about the same thing all these curl products do. I will update when I use it!
Bobby Pins// Not too crazy about bobby pins showing in my hair- I will try a style with them though when I wear something that complements the blue!

This is with Swiss Dot and DDF and Ceramidin

Hi-Lo Heaven

So I had to do a beach trip look, and had to bust out an OOTD post while I was in TeXaS! My Mother took these photos of me! She was saying - Now go over there by that tree - Now go stand on the porch and pick up this plant - hilarious! Everyone should have their picture made with Bam! However she has made leaps and bounds since she has been known to cut heads off in the past.. those were dark times.

Everytime I wear this dress I get tons of compliments and feel like a comfortable fashionista. It's comfortable and flirty, but totally easy to accessorize and dress up! This is Hi-Lo heaven because it's simple but makes a statement- and I'm in my favorite place HOME

If you can't tell I also got my hair redone - (redone? word?) much better if I do say so myself!
My stylist at home did it.. it's more of a beauty shop than a salon (think Steel Magnolias) but she is the best colorist I have ever been to- which is not really saying a whole lot. but her jack She knows her stuff!
